With a cargo of 6,000 high strength carbon steel pipes, the third and final delivery arrived at the Port of Almeria in early February of 2008.  The new pipe, each measuring 12 meters long and 24 inches in diameter, will enable completion of the MEDGAZ pipeline and allow gas to start flowing midyear 2009.  With an initial capacity of 8 billion cubic meters a year, Medgaz will transport natural gas from Beni Saf on the Algerian coast across the Mediterranean seabed to a receiving terminal located at El Perdigal Beach in Almeria.
